Speaker Spotlight-Josie Payne
Opening Session Performance
The Lord Jehovah is my strength and my SONG, he also has become my salvation.
I want to help others realize that they're not alone in their feelings. We all have hard times and times when we feel down or depressed. But through my music, I express how we all have struggles and negative thoughts that try to overwhelm us. I want to help others see that we're all a lot more alike in our feelings than we realize, and we're here on earth to help each other! Most importantly I want my music to lead everyone to Christ. Because he is the one who knows exactly how we feel when we're struggling. He's the one who understands and can fully help us with whatever challenges we may be going through.
Overcoming Trials and Building Self Confidence
In life it can sometimes be easy to get down on ourselves or to feel inadequate. Or we may be trying to help others who are struggling with their self confidence. But as I've had gratitude for the talents that I do have and have prayed to and worked on developing more, I've felt such an increase of happiness in my life! I know that God has given each of us specific talents and that we each have things we are here to do on this earth that no one else can do, as well as we can. This knowledge has helped me so much during times when satan tries to make me feel like I'm not good enough. And I know that by having confidence in our own talents we can inspire and empower others to realize theirs, which will bring them closer to the Savior. I know God lives and loves us, and that He blesses us when we trust in him through our trials and seek to use our talents to build our self confidence and to serve others.
